Over 30 years in business
History of the festival

A record longevity
In 1989, a group of longtime friends, passionate about music, lakeside sunshine, and cocktails, organized a music party. Held on a small plot at the port of Crans, the warm and tropical atmosphere perfectly suited this free event. The essence of that Saturday night immediately shaped the DNA of Caribana.
More than 30 years of joy
Caribana continued to grow and added a second stage in 1997. That year also saw the arrival of blues music at the festival for the first time, along with the introduction of a shuttle service.
Today, Caribana is still going strong. The improvised party of 1989 has blossomed into an event welcoming tens of thousands of visitors and featuring world-renowned artists such as Mika, Earth, Wind & Fire, Lou Reed, ZZ Top, Katy Perry, Queens of the Stone Age, Imagine Dragons, Kyo, Bastian Baker, and Patti Smith.
